Navionics Congratulates Lowrance on Integration of Platinum in 2008 Chartplotters

Wareham, Mass. – Navionics, the leader in electronic charting and navigation data, announced today that Lowrance is the latest hardware partner to support its award-winning Platinum cartography. A leader in fresh and saltwater marine electronics, Lowrance has officially confirmed that its entire 2008 line of chartplotters will support the advanced features of Navionics multi-dimensional Platinum worldwide marine charts and HotMaps Platinum North American freshwater charts.

“We congratulate Lowrance on incorporating Platinum into their full range of 2008 chartplotters,” said Bob Moshiri, vice president sales and marketing, Navionics. “Based on our conversations with Lowrance chartplotter owners and enthusiasts, we are confident that Platinum compatibility will be well received!”

Lowrance compatibility with Platinum Charts will provide users unique and sophisticated features such as 3-D bathymetric views and aerial photography of ports, marinas and other points of interest. In addition, HotMaps Platinum offers Lowrance customers detailed charts of over 10,000 North American lakes and exclusive high-resolution 3-D map views of top U.S. tournament lakes and waters. A Lowrance firmware update for Navionics Platinum compatibility will be available in January 2008 as a free download from www.lowrance.com enabling the use of plug-and-play Navionics Platinum Secure Digital (SD) memory cards.
