Navionics Platinum Wins NMEA Award

Cartography Leader Takes 1st Place in Marine Specialty Category

Wareham, Mass. – Navionics, the leader in electronic charting, announced today that Platinum, the first multi-dimensional electronic charts for marine chartplotters, won the coveted NMEA Award (National Marine Electronics Association) in the Marine Specialty category at last week's annual Convention & Expo in Naples, Florida. The NMEA product awards recognize excellence in design, performance and reliability in marine electronic products. The awards are selected by secret ballot from marine electronics dealers, distributors and other marine industry professionals.

"Winning the prestigious NMEA Award continues to reinforce that Navionics Platinum is the most powerful cartography on the market for today’s navigators," said Bob Moshiri, vice president of sales and marketing, Navionics. "Developing Platinum took years of painstaking effort from hundreds of individuals and we are thrilled to add this honor to Navionics’ growing list of accolades."

Platinum Charts combine huge XL3-size coverage areas with many features previously unavailable for marine chartplotters including satellite and high-aerial photo overlays, panoramic photos of ports and marinas, 3-Dimensional bathymetric views with 360° rotation and pitch capabilities, complete Coast Pilot books, port services, wrecks, and a coastal road network to find any one of thousands of points-of-interest available with Platinum Charts. Moreover, an additional high-definition fishing chart, Navionics Fish’N Chip, is free with purchase of select Platinum Charts for US waters and provides the best available fishing detail for your chartplotter.

PRICING AND AVAILABILITY
The suggested retail price for Platinum Charts has recently been reduced to $299. Platinum Charts are currently compatible with Northstar’s 6100i, Raymarine’s E-series, and new 900 series plotters from Humminbird. Platinum and other Navionics products are available at marine, boating and sporting goods stores throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, New Zealand and Australia.
