Navionics Pro Spotlight: Greg Karch, Professional Walleye Angler

Greg Karch grew to love fishing at the age of 12 when he and a friend started fishing golf course ponds and Ruby Creek in his home state of Wisconsin. He has competed in tournaments including the FLW Walleye Tour and the Masters Walleye Circuit, and earned two top ten finishes. While he has a love of fishing, he is also very involved in growing the sport. In 2009, he became a certified Angler Educator through the Wisconsin DNR and also certified through the BSA as an Angler Instructor and started building a youth and family fishing seminar, called “Fishing Basics”, a free, hour-long, interactive program he presents all over the Midwest. As “Fishing Basics” became more popular Greg developed a second seminar, “Ice Fishing Basics”, in 2013. All of his events are hosted on behalf of the not-for-profit organization Learn 2 Fish With Us. Over the years, Greg has professionally fished and guided, and has been featured in several publications. He currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Future Angler Foundation, and last year, he received an award for Outstanding Service and Dedication for Helping to Grow the Sport of Fishing from the NPAA. Greg has also been selected as a 2014 Invader Crusader for his commitment to stopping the spread of invasive species by the Wisconsin Invasive Species Council and on Saturday, June 7, 2014, he will host his 100th free fishing clinic.
