Denise Sustaita spent the majority of her childhood fishing throughout Texas with her father and brother. She competed in her first tournament about eight years ago, at a local event held at her home water of Lake Sam Rayburn. There she weighed in an 8lb 14oz bass and was was hooked! Sustaita has since fished local events in and around Texas and Louisianna, Bass Champs, and has spent the past three years fishing LBAA tournaments. Her first year fishing the LBAA, she fished co angler and placed 2nd in the LBAA Classic, and landed 3rd last year. This year, she was named Rookie of the Year for her first year fishing as a pro. The weekend of October 11-12, she and her fishing partner Danielle McRae will be two of six women who have qualified to fish the Bass Champs Team Championship, and then October 16-18th she can be found fishing the LBAA Classic at Logan Martin. When not on the water, Sustaita is the founder and owner of Reel Girls Fish, a clothing and accessories company with a focus on women anglers.
