Navionics Pro Spotlight: Gene Ellison, Professional Bass Angler

Massachusetts native, Gene Ellison, has been competing in professional bass tournaments for the past nine years.  Known affectionately by guys on the Tour as “The Fishing Machine”, Gene is considered one of the most enthusiastic tournament anglers around. He competes on the national trails with B.A.S.S., FLW and the PAA, as well as regionally in the Northeast. He will even compete in a few tournaments with his local club when he isn’t travelling away from home. In 2009, Gene was honored to receive the “Lifetime Achievement Award” from the PAA for his contributions to the sport of professional bass fishing. When not on the water, he resides in New England and stays busy making over 100 live appearances a year. One of his greatest passions is encouraging children and their families to get out into the great outdoors. Following this passion, he annually organizes several dozen Shakespeare & Berkley “Teach me Fishing” classes for kids. He’s even authored a children’s book titled “Teach Me Fishing” designed to teach parents the best way to introduce their children to the sport.

Don't miss Gene's appearance at the Defender Warehouse Sale in Waterford, CT on March 30, 2014.
