Anglers heading to the Bassmaster Classic bass fishing tournament March 6 – 8, 2020, are in luck. In fact, finding places to fish on Alabama’s largest lake just got easier for all anglers. The latest updates to Lake Guntersville feature recent multibeam sonar data, underwater structure, and more.
Here’s what you’ll see:
• More detailed contours in more places. Surveying has not only increased accuracy where contours already existed. Many areas not previously mapped, such as close to the shoreline and along remote, narrow branches, now show incredible detail.
• More submerged structure. Secondary creek beds, roadbeds and culverts present promising fishing spots, and knowing where they are is crucial to finding more places to fish.
Alabama’s largest lake, Guntersville is an impoundment of the Tennessee River known for its abundance of largemouth bass. Easily accessible from both public boat ramps and private marinas, the lake provides excellent habitat and fishing opportunities for smallmouth, striped and spotted bass, as well as huge catfish.
