Wareham, Mass. – Navionics, the leader in electronic charting and navigation data, announced today that hardware partner Lowrance now supports award-winning Platinum Charts.

Lowrance has officially confirmed that its firmware update for Navionics Platinum compatibility is now available for free download from www.lowrance.com, enabling the use of Navionics Platinum marine charts and HotMaps Platinum lake maps on plug-and-play SecureDigital (SD) memory cards for Lowrances' entire 2008 line of chartplotters.

Lowrance compatibility with Navionics' Platinum line will provide users with advanced features such as 3D bathymetric views and aerial photography of ports, marinas and other points of interest. In addition, HotMaps Platinum offers Lowrance customers detailed charts of over 10,000 North American lakes and exclusive high-definition 3D views of the top US tournament lakes.
