Wareham, Mass. – Navionics, the leader in electronic charting and navigation data, announced today the latest version of its popular lake cartography, HotMaps Premium 2008 Edition. With charts for over 12,000 lakes in the U.S. and Canada, HotMaps Premium 2008 provides over three times more fresh water coverage than any other electronic product on the market and provides over 460 high-definition lakes featuring one-foot contours. Navionics HotMaps products are the only electronic charts that include coverage of Canadian lakes. Regardless of where an angler fishes in the U.S. or Canada, HotMaps Premium 2008 is the premier electronic cartography for fresh water.
HotMaps Premium 2008 Edition provides enhanced positioning information, underwater structure and navigational aids for boaters. Navionics has tapped professional anglers local knowledge of select lakes to help pinpoint hot fishing locations. In addition, the new 2008 Edition includes over 460 lakes that have been extensively surveyed by Navionics exclusive survey team of hydro-cartographers. Presented in high-definition, with one-foot contour levels, they provide the highest level of detail available on any existing charts. For gulf coast anglers, the new HotMaps Premium 2008 provides marine data that extends 1nm off the coast. Ideal for boaters who explore the bayous, this feature allows individuals to work the channels, canals and other areas that hold fish.
“With HotMaps Premium 2008, as with all Navionics products, we are committed to providing the best breadth of coverage, detail and accuracy available for boaters,” said Jeff Brodeur, HotMaps sales manager, Navionics. “For anyone interested in boating or fishing in the U.S. or Canada, our new 2008 product is the only choice.”
HotMaps Premium 2008 is designed to help anglers find the structure and transitions such as reefs, drop-offs, vegetation, humps and holes that hold fish. On-water NavAid navigational markers include Navionics’ XPlainTM feature, allowing boaters to learn more about the marker and surrounding waters. The cartography displays major roads, county lines and other visible landmarks to help boaters determine their position in their surroundings, as well as, detailed information on marinas and boat ramp locations.
HotMaps Premium 2008 is Navionics NavPlanner compatible allowing boaters to pre-plan fishing trips, mark routes and drop waypoints on a PC from the comfort of their home or office, then transfer the information to their Navionics compatible chartplotter.
HotMaps Premium 2008 is available in one Canadian and four U.S. regions on preprogrammed CF (CompactFlash) and SD (SecureDigital) media cards that can be used on Navionics compatible chartplotters manufactured by Eagle, Furuno, Humminbird, Lowrance, Northstar and Raymarine, as well as products from Fugawi and FW Murphy.
