WAREHAM, Massachusetts, February 17, 2005 - Navionics Incorporated announce the next big thing in electronic chart technology - Navionics Platinum. Navionics Platinum was unveiled to the public for the first time at the Miami Beach International Boat show in Florida.

Navionics Platinum is the first multi-dimensional electronic charting and navigation information product for marine chartplotters. In recent years, some products have been offered for PCs and laptops which include charting and other ancillary information. The limitations of the PC on a boat are well known. Now, Navionics Platinum offers all the features that boaters need to know - from charts, to cruising guides, to photographic images and more - all integrated and georeferenced on a single plug & play cartridge that could not be simpler to use with a GPS plotter.

Key features of Navionics Platinum begin with the same HUGE coverage area and content of Navionics Gold XL3 cartridges. Add to this the multi-dimensional information of satellite photography, panoramic port photographs, 3D bathymetric presentation, coastal piloting text guide, wrecks database, coastal road networks, and thousands of enhanced port services reference information.

Giuseppe Carnevali, founder and President of Navionics noted, "Navionics Platinum is the result of over 2 years of collaborative R&D efforts, utilizing the best data sources, the most efficient manufacturing locations, and many sea trials to perfect and prove the concept. There is nothing else close to the content and quality in the industry. Platinum really makes a difference in navigation awareness and enjoyment."

Navionics Platinum charts will be available in leading manufacturers' plotters beginning in the summer of 2005 and more will follow. Coverage areas will include US/Canada, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

Navionics is based in Viareggio, Italy, and operates sales and manufacturing facilities in 7 countries. For over 20 years, Navionics has developed and manufactured electronic navigation charts and systems for marine, inland lakes & rivers and outdoors use.

Further information will be made available soon.
