Navionics Platinum nominated for the coveted DAME Award

Platinum, the new multi-dimensional cartography from Navionics, has just been nominated for the coveted DAME Award, the design award given for best product displayed at METS in Amsterdam. Platinum was selected along with 54 other products from among 172 entries. Amsterdam RAI, organizer of the annual DAME competition, has noted that strict moderation has resulted in a short-listing of the nominated products, about one third of the total entries.

The show takes place at Amsterdam RAI from November 15-17. The jury will assess the products by reference to the balance and interaction between overall design, build, functionality and use of materials. Other factors taken into account are originality, ergonomics and price/quality ratio. The jury will announce the winner November 15.

"Navionics is very proud to receive this nomination," said Bob Moshiri, vice president of sales and marketing, at Navionics. "Platinum, being the first multi-dimensional cartography available for stand alone chart plotters, is changing the way boaters use. By integrating 3-D cartography with a variety of information sources, such as satellite and panoramic pictures, coast pilot books, coastal roads, etc., Platinum is bridging the gap between the abilities of the weather-vulnerable PC and the dedicated marine chartplotter."
