Navionics, the leader in location based services for the recreational boating and outdoor markets, expands its range of apps to include Navionics Fly for iPhone. In addition to our other popular apps that we’ve developed and tested ourselves, Boating, Ski and Hike&Bike, we’re excited to cover all elements and complete our outdoor scope with Fly. We’re boaters, skiers, hikers, bikers and pilots ourselves, and we understand how to enhance your outdoor experience.
Now aviators can enjoy our serious, yet very easy-to-use app designed for beginners to experienced pilots of light-sport or ultralight aircraft. Navionics Fly has customizable checklists, route planning, flight tracking, 3-day wind forecasts and more. A tremendous value at no charge!
Navionics Fly provides over 60 aircraft checklists that can include preflight inspection, engine start, takeoff, landing, shutdown, taxi and emergency procedures. Checklists are accurate, pleasant to use, and provide clear step-by-step instructions that automatically lead you to the next item on the checklist so you never skip a step. You can also create checklists from scratch and edit existing ones. See the Navionics checklists, then customize them for your vehicle or operation! Easily reorder items or add additional checks as you see fit!
Routes can be planned with an ETA, distance to arrival, fuel consumption and more considering your aircraft settings. All you have to do is tap on Route>New Route to create, then press Go! Routes are automatically saved and can be edited anytime.
You can record all your trips and view the track console in real time with customizable settings for flight time, speed, distance and elevation. Even compare with your previous records. Saved tracks can be reviewed in playback with expandable speed and altitude graphs. You’ll have all the details of each of your trips to evaluate your performance and a cumulative summary that can be sorted by seasons, months, weeks or days – all to supplement your flight Logbook. You can also share your tracks, markers and routes via social media or email!
Fly currently has a database of over 20,000 airports located across the United States, Italy and Switzerland. The information available for each airport includes their location on the map, airport name, closest city name and the type of airport. More airports may be added in the future.
