Navionics Pro Spotlight: Capt. Mark King

Capt. Mark King

Captain Mark King is one of the most popular fishing guides on Lake Okeechobee. He grew to love bass fishing as a child thanks to his father’s influence. As an adult, he went on to compete in professional bass tournaments on the Everstart and BFL tours. While competing he had numerous wins and top finishes such as the 2002 West Virginia Bass Festival Championship and taking 2nd place in 2000’s BASS Federation regional. He remained enamored with bass fishing. He left his home state of Ohio and his career as a golf course manager to move to Florida to become a full time professional bass fishing guide after experiencing the possible catches on Lake Okeechobee. Mark loves to help anglers improve and spends a lot of time while guiding instructing others in the art of catching bass. During tarpon season in May and June, he guides in the Florida Keys as well. When not on the water, he runs fishing seminars and releases a weekly fishing update for all of Lake Okeechobee and Southern Florida on reel talk radio on ESPN radio every Saturday morning.
