At Navionics we continuously enhance our products and technology to provide our customers with the best possible experience, the most complete details and the most relevant content. As part of our ongoing product enhancement, we recently improved the depth data of Canandaigua Lake in western New York by employing highly effective multibeam survey technology.
The result is a high-definition bathymetry map that has exceptional detail and a much wider coverage area, which reaches into the marinas. Lake Canandaigua is part of a system of glacial water bodies called the Finger Lakes and is known for its water quality. In addition to providing drinking water to many of the surrounding communities, it can be an aspect appreciated by anglers and boaters, too.
In fact, the well-oxygenated water allows fish to live in both shallow and deep areas and they feed more often. Furthermore, the water is very clear, allowing great visibility of the bottom texture.
In addition to the depth information in the update, users will also notice the addition of pontoons, shallow areas and navigation aids. Port plans and coastline results also are improved.
