The Navionics Boating app also gives the opportunity to use official unaltered U.S. Government Charts. They include the NOAA Electronic Navigational Charts for U.S. coastal and navigable waterways plus additional shorelines of major lakes and rivers.
With the February 2019 app update, the U.S. Government Charts will be included only in the coverage areas of the following select subscriptions: US & Canada, Mexico, Caribbean to Brazil, Pacific Islands, Asia & Africa.
You Never Subscribed to Any of the Areas Above
If you never subscribed to any of the areas above, you won’t be able to access the U.S. Government Charts anymore, and if you ever downloaded them, they won’t be displayed anymore. Go to Menu > Charts & Upgrades > Add Region and subscribe to 1 or more select areas.
You Subscribed to 1 or More of the Areas Above
If you subscribed to 1 or more of the areas listed above, you’ll still be able to access the U.S. Government Charts included in the coverage area of your subscription. You need an active subscription to update the U.S. Government Charts. Go to Menu > Me > Subscription to check the status.
You Don’t Know How to Display U.S. Government Charts in the App
If you don’t know how to display U.S. Government Charts in the app, go to the map, tap the round button on the lower left corner of the screen, and switch to “Govt. Chart.”
