New embedded software, available first in new Lowrance HDS model chartplotters, provides navigators with a high-speed fly through experience.

Navionics, the leader in electronic cartography and navigation data supply, introduces new revolutionary software, Navionics® TurboView™, specifically designed to fully exploit the capabilities of today’s chartplotters, starting with the new Lowrance HDS models.

First available in January 2009, and embedded in new Lowrance® HDS model chartplotters, Navionics TurboView software provides seamless and fluid pan and zoom, and rotation and pitch functionality – much like a flight simulator, as well as seamless transition between 2D and 3D views, real-time overlay of navigation data on 3D profiles, depth and elevation shadowing, and high-speed fly-through with detailed aerial photo overlay.

Navionics TurboView software is designed for use with Navionics Platinum-compatible chartplotters, using Platinum or Platinum+ Charts, or HotMaps Platinum Lake Maps, to enhance the chartplotter experience. Benefits include improved situational awareness, improved depth perception in both 2D and 3D views, and integrated panning and zooming functions with detailed top-down aerial photos.

Navionics TurboView, a new tool to enhance the operational flexibility of the Platinum-compatible chartplotter.
